True Botanicals Shampoo: My Honest Review
Ingredients: 10/10
This shampoo is one of the cleanest formulas out there. It is MADE SAFE certified, (one of the hardest certifications to achieve!) meaning it is free from over 6,500 harmful chemicals and is eco-friendly.
Active ingredients include Green Tea Seed Oil, Meadowfoam Seed Oil, and Aloe Leaf Extract, for deep nourishment and moisture.
Experience: 10/10
I love everything about using this nontoxic shampoo. From the sleek (recyclable!) bottle with a handy pump, to the invigorating, slightly earthy smell, to the satisfying lather, True Botanicals shampoo is downright luxurious to use.
Performance: 10/10
Another area where this shampoo really stands out! It cleans hair really well, but without stripping it. My hair tends to get oily quickly, but using this, I find my hair stays soft and clean for at least two days without the need for dry shampoo, plus it's more weightless and voluminous than with other shampoos.
Value: 7/10
If there were a downside to True Botanicals Nourishing Shampoo, this could be it. I have to use a few pumps for my locks, especially if I've used dry shampoo for a couple of days. That said, the price is in line with similar products for the size, and it outperforms many of them.
Overall: 9.25/10
Meet True Botanicals Nourishing Conditioner
What Is Is: A nourishing conditioner that leaves hair soft and silky without weighing it down.
What It Claims: "A hypoallergenic replenishing conditioner that leaves hair soft and silky, without added weight. Formulated for all hair types. With bright citrus and subtle floral notes to revitalize the senses." - from True Botanicals website
True Botanicals Conditioner: My Honest Review
Ingredients: 10/10
This conditioner is one of the cleanest formulas out there. It is MADE SAFE certified, (one of the hardest certifications to achieve!) meaning it is free from over 6,500 harmful chemicals and is eco-friendly.
Active ingredients include Green Tea Seed Oil, Aloe Leaf Extract, Shea Butter, and Macadamia Seed Oil for maximum shine, moisture, and protection.
Experience: 10/10
From the sleek (recyclable!) aluminum bottle with a pump, to the silky formula with an intoxicating scent with a mix of floral, citrus and woodsy notes, this conditioner is as luxurious as it claims, something that's not easy to pull off for a clean conditioner.
Performance: 7/10
This conditioner is definitely lightweight. I find I have to use a few more pumps than I'd like to coat all of my strands. Though I feel like it moisturizes my thin hair and leaves it shiny and voluminous, it may not be quite moisturizing enough for those with super thick or unruly hair. I prefer the weight and feel it leaves me able to go longer between washes because it doesn't weigh my hair down, but I find my hair is still a little tangled after showering. (I simply use a couple spritzes of leave-in conditioner while brushing my hair out!)
Value: 7/10
While the price for this conditioner is about the same as many other clean conditioners, I do find that I have to use a little more than I would like to coat all of my hair. However, you can get a 15% discount for subscribing to deliveries at the interval of your choice.

Overall Impressions
Even with the price tag (that's really not all that high compared to other clean haircare products), I find myself going back to True Botanicals shampoo and conditioner time and time again. The performance and luxurious experience simply can't be beat, and I feel the ingredients have been thoroughly vetted for safety. After testing quite a few clean conditioners, I've concluded it must be very difficult to formulate a good one. Most are either too heavy, not moisturizing enough, or have an off-putting, almost rancid smell. This conditioner defies all of the odds and really delivers shiny strands without weighing them down. And I love that both the shampoo and conditioner have a luxurious smell - one with slightly earthy, slightly floral notes and a hint of citrus. To save a little money, there is a 15% discount when you subscribe for delivery at intervals of your choice!
