Why You Need a Clean Cleanser
Most of use use a cleanser to wash our faces of the makeup, dirt, sweat, or general grime from the day. We expect our face to be pure and clean afterward. Unfortunately, many face washes are made with chemicals that may be harmful to our health. When used often, small amounts of these chemicals can build up in our systems and cause endocrine disruption, reproductive harm, or even cancer. Other ingredients can be irritating to the skin or trigger allergic reactions. Some of the biggest culprits in facial cleansers include Sodium Lauryl Sulfate (SLS)1, a foaming agent that can irritate skin and strip the skin barrier of it's natural oils; Parabens2, preservatives that are known endocrine disruptors and are linked to breast cancer; Mineral Oil3, a byproduct of petroleum that could contain carcinogens, and Synthetic Fragrance4, which has been linked to headaches, asthma, skin irritation and respiratory problems.
Assuming you use a facial cleanser every day, and the proximity to your eyes, nose and mouth, it's a good idea to switch to a safer, cleaner product for your daily cleansing routine. Luckily, there are lots of companies out there making great cleansers and other beauty products made with safer, more natural, and more effective ingredients!

Goldfaden MD Detox Clarifying Facial Wash: My Honest Review
Ingredients: 9/10
Formulated with natural, organic ingredients, this cleanser is free from parabens, silicones, and mineral oil. It includes nourishing ingredients and meets the standards of Credo Beauty.
Experience: 1/10
This is probably the most frustrated I've been with a product. It took pump after pump after pump to get the bottle to produce even a pea-sized amount of foam. Pretty annoying when your face and hands are wet and you're trying to get the cleanser onto your face while the water is running. Other than the pain of actually getting the product out, the rest of the experience is forgettable. There is no scent (fine by me!), and I wasn't particularly pleased with actually applying the cleanser. After washing, my skin felt tight and dry.
Performance: 3/10
Not only did I not see any results promised (deep pore cleansing, detoxifying, exfoliating), this cleanser didn't seem to do even it's basic function of cleaning my face. It certainly didn't remove any makeup. You'd definitely have to use a makeup remover or double cleansing routine. I didn't notice any improvement in my skin.
Value: 2/10
At $45, this cleanser isn't exactly cheap, but the fact that I couldn't really use it makes it a poor value. Luckily, I purchased it from Credo, and their team made it right immediately.
Overall: 3.75/10
Overall Impressions
To say that I was not impressed would be a severe understatement. When I could manage to get any of the foam out of the bottle, it just didn't perform as promised. It didn't cleanse my skin, certainly didn't unclog my pores, and just left my skin feeling dry and tight immediately after use. If you're looking for something to clear up problem skin gently, skip this one!
I don't recommend purchasing this product. You can check out my other cleanser reviews here!
