Finding a good concealer can be a struggle - especially if you have multiple skin concerns. For me, I needed something that goes on smoothly under my eyes but also covers blemishes well. It also needed to stay put without creasing or caking, match my skin's shade, and of course, be free of harmful ingredients, too. That's a lot of asks for one single product, but my new favorite concealer checks all the boxes, and them some. It's a match made in heaven!

Why You Need a Clean Concealer
I don't know about you, but I use concealer often, and very close to my eyes. While I want to make sure every product I put on my skin is free from harmful ingredients, I especially don't want toxic chemicals near my eyes, nose and mouth. Conventional concealers can be made with ingredients like:
- PEGs (polyethylene glycols) - petroleum based compounds used to thicken or soften cosmetics and increase skin penetration of ingredients; they can be contaminated with Ethylene Oxide and 1,4-Dioxane, which are known carcinogens.1
- PFAS (Per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances) - also known as forever chemicals because they take so long to break down, PFAS accumulate in the body and are linked to certain cancers, endocrine disruption, reduced immunity, and even fetal harm.2 So definitely stay away from them if you're pregnant!
- Phthalates - Used as binders in cosmetics; they have been linked to breast cancer, reproductive toxicity, and endocrine disruption. 3
- Parabens - commonly used in many personal care products and easily absorbed by the body, parabens are endocrine disrupting chemicals (EDCs)4 linked to breast cancer,5 thyroid problems, obesity, reproductive problems in both males and females,6 and early onset of puberty in girls.7
- BHA/BHT - chemical preservatives commonly used in cosmetics and food that has been associated with endocrine disruption and skin reactions.8
- Silicones - frequently used to make products glide on more easily, these chemicals could potentially be hormone disruptors, impair fertility, and harm the nervous and immune systems at high doses.9 Since they bioaccumulate easily, this is more concerning with products you use every day.
While the EU bans many of these chemicals in cosmetics, the US does not, so it's important to seek out brands that have stricter ingredient standards. Luckily there are many that voluntarily make healthier products that actually work. One of my favorite clean concealers is made by one such brand - Kosas.

Kosas Revealer Concealer: My Honest Review
Ingredients: 9/10
Kosas formulates all of their products free of over 2,700 chemicals, meeting the standards for the EU and Credo beauty's clean list. They get bonus points for including skincare ingredients that improve skin, like hyaluronic acid, caffeine + pink algae, and peptides.
Experience: 10/10
This concealer is a dream to apply. The super creamy, lightweight formula glides on smoothly and blends in seamlessly. I don't notice any scent or smell, and I thought the packaging and wand had a nice look and feel as well.
Performance: 9/10
The performance of this concealer is AMAZING. It covers blemishes, brightens under eye circles, and somehow still looks like skin. It doesn't cake or crease, and lasts all day long. My skin feels healthier when using it, and I feel much more confident with very little makeup on. I do wish there were just a tad bit more coverage, but if you don't have acne or anything to major to cover up, the coverage is probably perfect. Because there are so many shades to choose from, I was able to find a perfect match for my skin, which can be hard when trying to find a concealer that doesn't make your makeup look obvious.
Value: 7/10
At $30, it's a little on the expensive side, but you get a lot of product in one bottle. It lasts me for months.

Overall Impressions
I'm smitten with this concealer. After having used several clean concealers to cover my blemishes and under my eyes, I always found it difficult to strike the right balance in one formula that could do both, especially without looking cakey. I also had a hard time finding just the right shade, which made the spots I was trying to hide appear more obvious. But this concealer does it all! The formula is amazingly smooth and light, and still makes my skin look like skin, even when covering blemishes and dark spots. The shade is spot on, and with 38 shades to choose from, I'm willing to bet you'll find one that's a perfect match for you, too. The search is over!
