Why You Need a Clean Blush
Any gal will tell you that blush is a much-needed wake-up for the face, making the difference between looking tired and dull or awake and vibrant. Even the subtlest hint of color is life-giving for a tired mama's face.
However, many conventional blushes contain ingredients that could potentially be harmful, including:
- Talc - has a risk of contamination with asbestos, and has been linked to ovarian cancer
- Parabens - commonly used in many personal care products and easily absorbed by the body, parabens are endocrine disrupting chemicals (EDCs) linked to breast cancer, thyroid problems, obesity, reproductive problems in both males and females, and early onset of puberty in girls.
- Lake Dyes - Color additives made by reacting pigment with chemical substrates (usually aluminum). Some of the lake dyes may be derived from naturally occurring plant or animal ingredients but the vast majority are synthetically produced from coal tar or petroleum, and may be carcinogenic.
- Phenoxyethanol - Also called Ethylene glycol monophenyl ether (EGPE), is a common chemical and solvent used in industry and in consumer goods. It has shown developmental and reproductive toxicity, and may contain residual ethylene oxide, a known carcinogen.
- BHT (Butylated hydroxytoluene) - a chemical preservative commonly used in cosmetics and food that has been associated with endocrine disruption.

Well People Supernatural Stick: My Honest Review
Ingredients: 10/10
This multi-stick has all the certifications, including the hard to achieve EWG verified and Leaping Bunny. All Well People products are free from parabens, avobenzone, oxybenzone, GMOs, phthalates, sulfates, synthetic fragrance, phenoxyethanol, dimethicone, petrolatum, PEG, propylene glycol, mineral oil, talc, nanoparticles, as well as thousands of other potentially toxic ingredients. It is also made with nourishing jojoba oil and green tea.
Experience: 8/10
The simple tube is easy to use, and the product swipes on easily. I will say the formula is a little stickier than expected and tends to attract a lot of lint from the air. But overall, good experience.
Performance: 9/10
The color is pretty, lasts nicely and my skin doesn't feel the least bit dry, irritated, or greasy. No signs of clogged pores or extra breakouts, either.
Value: 7/10
The price is about the same as most comparable clean products, however, it seems like it doesn't last quite as long as others.
Overall: 8.5/10
Overall Impressions
If I didn't already have a multi-stick I love, this one very well might be my go-to! It's easy to use for a quick hit of color on both lips and cheeks, and comes in a variety of flattering shades. The fact that it's EWG verified is a huge plus, so if you're in the market for a cream blush that does it all, give this one a try for sure!
